Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to all safety regulations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a strong focus on safety and customer service.
1 Perm Role and 1 Temp for around 6 months.
Duties
- Operate HGV class 1, general haulage vehicles in compliance with legal requirements and company policies
- Conduct pre-journey safety inspections of the vehicle and report any issues promptly
- Deliver goods to designated locations, ensuring accurate and secure loading and unloading
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and complete all necessary paperwork
- Follow planned routes efficiently, adapting to traffic or weather conditions as needed
- Ensure compliance with all road safety laws and company policies during transit
- Assist with loading and unloading when required, using appropriate equipment and techniques
- Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with clients and colleagues
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving.
- General Haulage driver experience preferred, demonstrating punctuality and reliability
- Good knowledge of road regulations and safety standards within the UK
- Ability to operate flatbed lorries safely and securely
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively
- Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanour
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required, including early mornings or late finishes if necessary, occasional night out required.
- After 40 hours worked hourly pay rises to £19.50.
This position is ideal for experienced drivers committed to maintaining high standards of safety and customer service while delivering goods efficiently across the region.
Pay: £13.00-£19.50 per hour
