Job Overview
Sidcup Auto Repairs is an established independent garage looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician and qualified MOT Tester to join our friendly team.
The role will mainly involve servicing, maintenance and general mechanical repairs, alongside MOT testing when required. Depending on experience and ability, the role may also include more involved repairs such as timing belts, clutches and other major mechanical work.
We are looking for someone reliable, experienced and able to work confidently and independently to a high standard.
And add these duties:
- Carry out servicing and routine maintenance
- Diagnose and repair general mechanical faults
- Complete brake, suspension, steering and exhaust repairs
- Carry out MOT tests, repairs and retests when required
- Undertake more involved mechanical work, including timing belts and clutches, where suitably experienced
- Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults
- Complete vehicle health checks and accurately report additional work
- Maintain clear job records and communicate with the office team
Working hours
Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:30pm. No weekend working.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years’ experience working as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic
- Level 3 motor vehicle qualification, or equivalent recognised experience
- Current MOT Tester qualification is desirable but not essential
- Confident carrying out servicing, diagnostics and general mechanical repairs
- Experience completing more involved work such as timing belts and clutches
- Full UK driving licence
- Able to work independently and manage jobs efficiently
- Reliable, punctual and committed to producing work to a high standard
- Good communication skills and able to work well with the office and workshop team
- Own tools required
Pay: £34,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
