Accounts Senior - York
Clark Wood are working with a leading accountancy practice in York who are looking to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their growing Accounts & Business Advisory Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practice professional to work with a diverse client portfolio and take the next step in their career.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practice professional to work with a diverse portfolio of clients, taking ownership of client relationships while delivering a wide range of accounts, tax compliance and advisory services.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting clients throughout the year, providing high-quality financial reporting and developing strong working relationships, whilst working closely with experienced managers and gaining exposure to a varied portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a key point of contact for a portfolio of clients, managing deadlines, expectations and client requirements
Prepare and review accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
Prepare more complex accounts, including group accounts and FRS 102/1A/105 accounts
Prepare and review management accounts and VAT returns
Support clients with accounting queries, legislation changes and best practice advice
Identify opportunities to add value and improve client services
Promote the use of cloud accounting technology across the client base
Work collaboratively with managers to deliver work to deadlines
About You:
ACA, ACCA or ICAS qualified (or equivalent)
Minimum 3 years’ experience within an accountancy practice environment
Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, Companies Law and accounting standards including FRS 102, FRS 102 1A and FRS 105
Experience using accounting software such as Xero, Sage and QuickBooks
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong client relationships
A proactive approach with strong attention to detail
