Overview
We are seeking a reliable and physically fit individual to join our team as a Driver/Labourer. This role involves operating commercial vehicles to deliver goods and assisting with on site tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivery driving and be comfortable with heavy lifting and manual labour. A strong focus on safety, communication, and organisational skills is essential for success in this position. The applicant must be over 30 for insurance purposes.
Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles, including vans or lorries, to deliver goods to clients and suppliers.
- Assist with loading and unloading items, ensuring proper handling of heavy or fragile products.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Support warehouse operations by organising stock, preparing orders, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Follow delivery schedules accurately and communicate effectively with team members regarding any delays or issues.
- Assist in general labour tasks around the premises, including moving equipment or materials as required.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times during driving and manual handling activities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role involving commercial driving.
- Valid driver’s licence suitable for the vehicle type (e.g., car or lorry).
- Experience in builder work or manual labour, including heavy lifting.
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients.
- Ability to organise tasks efficiently and work independently under supervision.
- Physically capable of performing manual handling tasks and working in various weather conditions.
