Job Summary
1 DAY per week when required.
We are seeking a dedicated Yard Operative to join our team 1 day a week with the possibility of further days. The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient handling of materials, cleaning and maintaining a safe and organised yard environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic storage and warehousing environment, supporting various logistical and operational activities. The Yard Operative will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth flow of jobs and equipment across the site, contributing to overall project success.
Responsibilities
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring accurate documentation and handling of goods.
- Maintain organisation within the yard, ensuring all items are stored correctly and safely.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report any issues promptly.
- Assist with general yard maintenance, including cleaning, organising tools, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Demonstrate mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues when necessary.
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Valid forklift licence or certification is highly desirable But not mandatory.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks.
- Knowledge of materials handling procedures in a construction or warehousing environment.
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining safety standards.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
