Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic hospitality team. This role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and eager to contribute to a high standard of service in a fast-paced setting. Previous experience in food preparation or hospitality is advantageous but not mandatory, as full training will be provided.
Duties
- Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to uphold hygiene standards
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen team
- Supporting the cleaning of kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment to ensure a safe working environment
- Organising storage areas and ensuring all items are stored correctly and safely
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Restocking supplies and ensuring that the kitchen remains tidy throughout service periods
- Supporting the culinary team during busy periods by providing general assistance as required
Skills
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality environments is desirable but not essential
- Good organisational skills with an eye for cleanliness and detail
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a busy kitchen setting
- Basic understanding of health and safety standards within a food service environment
- Previous experience in restaurant, hotel, or culinary settings is advantageous but not mandatory
