Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Mental Health Nurse who has experience working within a care home to join our healthcare agency team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality mental health care to residents in care homes within a supportive and professional environment. The role is fully paid, including internship opportunities, and requires a commitment to delivering patient-centred care with professionalism and empathy.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive mental health assessments and develop personalised care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Administer prescribed medication accurately and monitor patients for adverse reactions or side effects.
- Provide direct patient care, including support with daily activities, emotional support, and therapeutic interventions.
- Observe and record patient behaviour, progress, and response to treatment, ensuring documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and optimise recovery outcomes.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to health and safety protocols, including infection control procedures.
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities to stay current with best practices in mental health nursing.
Requirements
- Valid registration as a Mental Health Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Proven experience in patient care within a mental health setting.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy relevant to mental health nursing and medication administration procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassionate approach with a commitment to delivering high standards of patient-centred care.
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings and weekends if necessary including night shifts
Must be an experienced RMN in care home setting
Pay: £26.00 per hour
