HR Manager – Immediate Opportunity
Our client, a well-established engineering and manufacturing business, is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join their team on a fixed-term contract during an exciting period of growth and development.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive HR professional to play a key role in supporting business operations, driving employee engagement, and partnering with managers across multiple sites. The position is primarily based in Abingdon, with some remote support provided to an additional UK location.
The Role
Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will act as a trusted HR partner, providing hands-on support and guidance across the full employee lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing day-to-day HR operations and employee relations matters
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning activities
- Advising managers on performance management, absence, disciplinary, and grievance procedures
- Driving employee engagement, wellbeing, and retention initiatives
- Coordinating learning and development programmes and performance review processes
- Supporting apprenticeship and talent development initiatives
- Ensuring compliance with UK employment legislation and HR best practice
- Contributing to continuous improvement of HR policies and processes
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven HR generalist experience in a management or standalone HR position
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Experience handling employee relations casework
- CIPD Level 5 or Level 7 qualification
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organisational skills with a proactive and solution-focused approach
Previous experience within manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environments would be advantageous but is not essential.
