Who are we?
Look at the latest headlines and you will see something Ki insures. Think space shuttles, world tours, wind farms, and even footballers’ legs.
Ki’s mission is simple. Digitally disrupt and revolutionise a 335-year-old market. Working with Google and UCL, Ki has created a platform that uses algorithms, machine learning and large language models to give insurance brokers quotes in seconds, rather than days.
Ki is proudly the biggest global algorithmic insurance carrier. It is the fastest growing syndicate in the Lloyd's of London market, and the first ever to make $100m in profit in 3 years.
Ki’s teams have varied backgrounds and work together in an agile, cross-functional way to build the very best experience for its customers. Ki has big ambitions but needs more excellent minds to challenge the status-quo and help it reach new horizons.
Where you come in
How do you make insuring 100 hotels on the US coastline as easy as getting your car insurance? That's exactly the kind of challenge we're solving at Ki.
We're building the first fully digital and data-led Ki platform in the London market, fundamentally changing how we arrange cover for everything from hotel chains to stadium tours. The world's leading insurance brokers already use the Ki platform, and we're the first movers in this space – think challenger bank, but for global specialty insurance.
We're looking for a product manager to own the roadmap for the appetite levers that guide what risks Ki and partners write. You'll own the tools our portfolio managers use to set risk appetite and guide our portfolio to manage exposure and drive profit. You'll work closely with our underwriting, portfolio management, and partnerships teams to understand how appetite is managed and where today's tools fall short. And you'll collaborate with engineering, design, and research to solve genuinely novel challenges in insurance. Together, we'll build best-in-class internal tooling that gives Ki and partners robust, reliable control over the portfolio – a core part of our carrier vision.
What you will be doing: ️
-
Effective Product Discovery: Employ your robust product skillset to identify the best problems to solve, ideate effective solutions, and chart a path to delivery in tandem with user research, engineering, and other stakeholders.
-
Prioritise your squad’s workstack: With a focus on robust, data-driven reasoning, prioritise the right work at the right time – and ensure that the process has been collaborative and clear to others.
-
Support Product Delivery: Encourage effective delivery by practicing and advocating for Product/Engineering best-practice inside and outside the squad. As a rule, we employ the Scrum framework at Ki.
-
Articulate the commercial value of the roadmap: Leverage deep commercial understanding, both in terms of how Ki operates and the market opportunity we’re seeking to capitalise on, to communicate the value of the work we do.
-
Manage stakeholders: Lead the discussion, with stakeholders across the business, of which capabilities will most meaningfully move the business towards its goals. Ensure that this strategy dovetails with the broader algorithm, underwriting, and technology horizons.
-
Work with the Product Management community: Engage openly with the broader Product organisation to identify opportunities for cross-benefit and mitigate against dependencies where possible.
-
Communicate effectively: Proactively communicate the details of work with stakeholders across Operations, Risk Management & Underwriting teams, ensuring that approach and impact is well-understood.
