Dunchurch Pools is a modern canal boat marina with a reputation for excellent customer service and friendly, supportive staff. We have a part time opportunity in our small café and front desk for someone who loves a job with lots of variety.
The successful candidate will bring a high level of catering and food hygiene knowledge, understand what standards we will be expecting and be able to take our café to the next level. There will be the opportunity to develop the menu and put your own stamp on the role working alongside the cafe manager.
This role also includes customer facing administration working on the front desk assisting customers. It would suit someone who enjoys being hands on, is confident interacting with people, as well as being practical, friendly and adaptable.
Your role would include:
- cooking and serving simple hot food
- preparing and serving Barista coffees
- baking cakes and pastries
- using the till to take payments
- keeping the café area clean and tidy and upholding exceptional food safety standards
- ensuring good stock rotation and flagging low stock
- receiving and checking deliveries
- providing assistance as required to our marina team in a variety of tasks
To be successful, you will:
- have previous experience in cafés, especially with espresso coffee and cooking and plating food
- be a people person who prioritises excellent customer service
- have a practical approach to your work
- be an efficient multi-tasker who thrives in a busy environment
- be comfortable working on a computer and familiar with Microsoft office
This is a part-time daytime role which includes weekend shifts. Extra shifts will be available to cover holidays.
No marina experience is needed as full training will be provided.
Due to our rural location, your own transport is required.
