High Ridge Training is seeking experienced freelance Engineering Tutors/Assessors to support the delivery and assessment of apprenticeship programmes within the engineering and manufacturing sector.
We are particularly interested in professionals with occupational competence and industry experience in one or more of the following specialist areas:
- Battery Manufacturing
- Electrical Fitting and Assembly
- Mechanical Fitting and Assembly
- Mechanised Welding
This is an excellent opportunity for industry professionals, trainers, assessors, and engineering specialists who are passionate about developing the next generation of skilled engineers.
Main Duties:
- Deliver remote and on site training and support learners through their programme
- Provide 1-2-1 and group learning support, motivating learners in their studies
- Develop and produce lesson plans tailored to individual learning needs
- Prepare and utilise teaching materials that accommodate different learning styles
- Use diverse delivery methods to engage and support learners effectively
- Maintain accurate records for examinations and assessments
- Provide regular progress updates to learners, employers, and management
- Participate in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities to ensure knowledge and skills meet industry standards
- Follow all Quality Assurance and Risk Management systems
- Adhere to policies and procedures such as Safeguarding, Prevent, Health & Safety, and Equality and Diversity
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
Essential:
Occupational competence and recent industry experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Battery Manufacturing
- Electrical Fitting and Assembly
- Mechanical Fitting and Assembly
- Mechanised Welding
Experience delivering training, mentoring, coaching or assessing in a workplace or educational setting.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Ability to engage and motivate learners.
Willingness to travel within a reasonable distance to accommodate on site delivery where required
Desirable:
- Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PTLLS, Award in Education and Training)
- Recognised assessing qualification (e.g., A1, CAVA)
- Experience in delivering Apprenticeship standards
