Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Pre-Press Mac Operator to join our dynamic team in. This role is vital in ensuring the quality and precision of our packaging products, supporting our mission to provide exceptional service and innovative solutions in the print industry.
Responsibilities
- Operate pre-press Mac systems efficiently to prepare print files for production.
- Collaborate with the design and production teams to ensure accurate translation of artwork.
- File Preparation: Receive and format artwork, adjusting size, text, and graphics to meet specific printer requirements.
- Pre-flighting: Conduct technical checks on client files (such as resolution, bleeds, fonts, and colour separations) to prevent printing errors.
- Colour Management: Adjust and calibrate files to ensure colour accuracy across various materials and print machines.
- Proofing: Create digital or physical sample proofs for customer review and sign-off.
- Troubleshooting: Resolve layout, formatting, or machinery issues to minimise waste and meet tight deadlines.
- Qualifications
- Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of design and layout software like Adobe CC (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and industry-standard workflow systems (e.g., Heidelberg).
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of different printing processes and paper/material types.
- Detail-Oriented: A high level of precision to catch minor mistakes before they go to costly final print runs.
- Time Management: Ability to work in fast-paced manufacturing environments and manage multiple print jobs simultaneously.
