JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Senior Groundsperson
Location: Radley College, Abingdon
Responsible to: Grounds Manager
Radley College is seeking a Senior Groundsperson to join our Grounds team and help maintain some of the finest school sports facilities in the UK. Working across 30 hectares of sports grounds, a 9-hole golf course and the wider estate, you will play a key role in preparing and maintaining high-quality playing surfaces throughout the year.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and maintaining sports pitches and artificial surfaces, assisting with cricket wicket preparation and seasonal renovations, marking out and setting up playing surfaces, operating and maintaining a range of grounds machinery and equipment, supporting the upkeep of the golf course and wider estate, and ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and presentation are maintained at all times. We are looking for someone who:
- has experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping or sports turf management
- Enthusiastic, reliable and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Committed to delivering high standards
- NVQ Level 2 in Sports Turf Maintenance (or equivalent)
- PA1, PA2 and PA6 qualifications beneficial, although training can be provided.
