About the Role
We are delighted to be recruiting for a Quality Systems Manager to join a well-established and quality-driven food manufacturing business. This is a pivotal role responsible for maintaining and enhancing the site’s Quality Management System, ensuring full compliance with food safety standards, customer requirements, and industry regulations.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will play a key role in driving continuous improvement, supporting audits, and embedding a strong quality culture across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Systems & Compliance
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust Quality Management Systems across the site.
- Ensure compliance with BRC (v9), food safety legislation, and customer codes of practice.
- Maintain document control for all procedures, policies, and specifications.
- Oversee traceability systems, including regular testing and audits.
- Manage supplier approval processes and maintain up-to-date certification records.
Operational & Technical Support
- Support HACCP systems to ensure ongoing food safety compliance.
- Assist with customer visits, audits, and third-party inspections.
- Oversee specification systems, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
- Support New Product Development (NPD), including trials, testing, and technical validation.
- Manage calibration schedules and equipment compliance (e.g., X-ray, checkweighers).
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
- Drive continuous improvement through audits, identifying non-conformances and implementing corrective actions.
- Work closely with production and cross-functional teams to ensure procedures are practical and effective.
- Support food safety training, inductions, and quality culture initiatives across the site.
About You
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented quality professional with a strong background in food manufacturing.
Essential
- Experience within a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality systems, food safety standards, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage teams.
Desirable
- Experience within a high-risk manufacturing environment.
- Prior involvement in audits (BRC/customer).
- Exposure to NPD processes and supplier management.

Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
