Highways Skilled Operative
Salary: £30,920 to £32,563 per year (Grade 3)
Contract: Permanent, working at sites across North Yorkshire
Hours: Full-time, 45 hours per week

At NY Highways we’re expanding our External Works team, offering an opportunity for Skilled Operatives. You’ll work on a variety of projects across North Yorkshire and the North East, enhancing the essential services we provide.
This role provides a stable and long-term project portfolio with career growth opportunities. As a Skilled Operative in the External Works team, you’ll be instrumental in guiding multiple teams to deliver large-scale projects.

About the role
In this varied role, you'll be responsible for a wide range of skilled tasks including kerbing, drainage installation, patching, ironwork renewal, street furniture installation, and more. You'll also tackle general maintenance duties like site upkeep, traffic management, and roadside verge maintenance.
With opportunities to work on diverse maintenance projects, you'll be involved in tasks such as concrete work, paving, asphalt laying, fence repair, sign erecting, and vegetation management.
Working as part of a dedicated team, you'll ensure all work is completed to the highest standard while adhering to Safety, Health, and Environmental policies. Good communication skills are essential for collaborating effectively with our NY Highways team and external clients.
While experience in the following areas is beneficial, we encourage candidates with a mix of qualifications to apply:

· Traffic Management TM1 and TM2
