About the Role:
Ajyad Al Khair Construction and Project Solutions is looking for a Commercial Manager to join our Paisley team. You will oversee the commercial performance of construction and project delivery activities, helping ensure contracts, costs, procurement and financial risks are managed effectively.
This role is suited to an experienced commercial professional who understands how project decisions affect cost, margin and contractual obligations. You will work closely with project managers, quantity surveyors, procurement colleagues and contractors to maintain strong commercial control throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Management:
Oversee the commercial performance of assigned projects and identify areas that may affect cost, margin or contractual position.
Cost Control:
Monitor project expenditure, forecasts and committed costs and investigate significant differences against approved budgets.
Contract Management:
Review contractual requirements, commercial terms and project obligations and ensure relevant actions are tracked.
Change Control:
Manage commercial aspects of project variations and ensure changes are documented, valued and communicated appropriately.
Procurement Support:
Work with procurement colleagues to review supplier quotations, subcontractor proposals and commercial terms.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare regular commercial reports covering cost performance, forecasts, risks and project financial position.
Risk Management:
Identify commercial risks early and develop practical actions to reduce financial or contractual exposure.
Payment Applications:
Review payment applications, valuations and supporting information before approval or submission.
Supplier Management:
Support commercial discussions with suppliers and subcontractors and help resolve pricing or contractual issues.
Project Forecasting:
Maintain accurate cost to complete forecasts and update commercial assumptions as project conditions change.
Stakeholder Communication:
Provide clear commercial updates to project teams and explain cost, contract and risk implications when decisions are required.
Project Closeout:
Support final account preparation, contract closeout and the resolution of outstanding commercial matters.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
Several years of experience in commercial management, quantity surveying, construction finance, contract management or a related project based role.
Commercial Knowledge:
Strong understanding of project costs, contract terms, procurement, variations and financial forecasting.
Construction Experience:
Experience working within construction, engineering, infrastructure or a similar project delivery environment is preferred.
Contract Awareness:
Good understanding of common construction contracts and the commercial responsibilities associated with project delivery.
Financial Skills:
Ability to analyse budgets, forecasts, valuations and project cost information accurately.
Negotiation:
Confidence handling commercial discussions with suppliers, contractors and project stakeholders.
Organisation:
Ability to manage several commercial priorities, maintain accurate records and meet reporting deadlines.
Problem Solving:
Ability to identify commercial issues, assess their potential impact and recommend practical solutions.
Communication:
Strong spoken and written English with the ability to explain commercial information clearly to both financial and non financial colleagues.
Mindset:
You are commercially aware, accountable and detail focused. You identify risks early, maintain clear records and make balanced decisions that protect project performance while supporting practical delivery.
Pay: £4,400.00-£5,300.00 per month
