West Berkshire Council is seeking a Strategic Manager - Case Management and Governance to support the Service Lead in the effective delivery and management of the shared Public Protection Service.
About the Role
As the Strategic Manager - Case Management and Governance, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful operation of the Public Protection Service, which encompasses Trading Standards, Environmental Health and Licensing. You will be responsible for:

Leading and managing a team to deliver high-quality regulatory services to the local community
- Ensuring effective case management and governance processes are in place
- Overseeing the implementation of appropriate controls, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Criminal and Civil Litigation
- Working collaboratively with other strategic managers to ensure joined-up service delivery
- Providing regular reports and updates to the Service Lead and other key stakeholders
About You
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

Qualified Solicitor, CILEX Criminal Litigator or Barrister with authorisation to conduct reserved activities under the Legal Services Act 2007 (Litigation)
- Significant experience in a similar role within a public sector environment
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Substantial track record in building and managing effective partnerships
- Excellent knowledge of case management principles and governance frameworks
- Ability to work collaboratively with other managers and stakeholders
- Effective communication and influencing skills
