Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and dedicated Swimming Teacher & Poolside Operations Assistant to join our friendly team at Lily's Pad Swim School.
This varied role combines teaching swimming lessons with poolside operations and administrative duties, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, has excellent customer service skills, and is passionate about helping swimmers of all ages develop confidence in the water.
As a Swimming Teacher, you will inspire confidence, promote water safety and deliver engaging lessons that help children and adults reach their swimming goals. Alongside teaching, you will play an important role in welcoming customers, managing bookings and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of our busy swim school.
Duties & Responsibilities
Swimming Teacher
- Plan and deliver structured swimming lessons for a range of ages and abilities.
- Teach water confidence, swimming techniques and water safety.
- Monitor each swimmer's progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Adapt lessons to suit individual learning needs.
- Create a fun, encouraging and safe learning environment.
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed.
- Communicate professionally with parents and guardians regarding progress.
Poolside Operations
- Welcome customers and provide exceptional customer service.
- Answer telephone calls, emails and customer enquiries.
- Manage bookings and customer accounts using our booking system.
- Process payments and assist with general administration.
- Check swimmers in for lessons and sessions.
- Maintain a clean, organised and welcoming reception and viewing area.
- Support the day-to-day operation of the swim school, ensuring sessions run smoothly.
- Assist the wider team wherever needed to provide an excellent customer experience.
Skills & Experience
We're looking for someone who has:
- A recognised Swimming Teacher qualification (STA, Swim England or equivalent).
- Previous swimming teaching or sports coaching experience.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A friendly, positive and professional attitude.
- Confidence working with children, adults and families.
- Good organisational and computer skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.
Desirable
- Current lifesaving, first aid or safeguarding qualifications.
- Previous customer service, administration or front-of-house experience.
- Experience using booking or scheduling software (training will be provided).
Hours
This role includes a combination of:
- Swimming lesson teaching.
- Poolside Operations shifts.
- Evening and weekend work.
- Additional hours to cover holidays, sickness and business growth.
