We work in partnership with Explosive Developments Ltd, an innovative manufacturer and supplier of explosives, ancillaries, and delivery equipment.Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a reliable HGV Class 2 Driver to train as a MEMU Operator.
Summary
This position is ideal for an experienced Class 2 driver looking to move into a specialist role. Full MEMU training will be provided. You’ll be responsible for operating specialist vehicles and supporting on-site explosive delivery operations, working closely with our blasting teams to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient service.
You will be required to work away from home will be accommodated in hotels arranged by the company.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 2 vehicles to transport equipment, materials, and explosives as required.
- Assist with the setup and operation of mobile explosive manufacturing units.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Support the delivery of materials to various sites across the UK.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and operational activities.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines related to explosive handling and transportation.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operational workflows.
- Requirements
- HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence – essential
- ADR preferred (or willingness to obtain – training can be supported)
- Strong safety awareness and professional attitude
- Flexible with regional travel and working hours
- Valid Drivers CPC
