We have an opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Align Property Services based in one of our offices in Yorkshire and the North East: Otley, Durham or Northallerton.

We are an award-winning building design consultancy, wholly owned by North Yorkshire Council. We are one of the largest multi-discipline building design consultancies in the North of England. We are collaborative in the way we work, offering a broad range of services in Architecture, Sustainability, Building Surveying, Project Management, Civil & Structural, Transport Planning, Bridges, Highways & Drainage Engineering, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, CD, Property Advisory & Estate Management.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Use your experience and knowledge of best practice to manage projects through their entire lifecycle.
- Prepare estimates, cost plans, and tender documentation using various forms of measurement and contracts.
- Administer and provide advice on contracts, typically JCT and NEC, while collaborating with other teams within Align’s multi-disciplinary workforce.
- Accurately measure for Schedule of Works and Bills of Quantities production.
- Price and prepare monthly financial cost reports and cashflow forecasts throughout the contract period.
- Build positive working relationships with clients, regularly attending site meetings to provide project support.
- Be part of a busy and professional team with a proven record of meeting and exceeding targets, driven by passion and determination to continually improve the service provided.

What We’re Looking For
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification
- RICS-qualified (MRICS Chartered Quantity Surveyor or equivalent) or working towards it.
- Working knowledge of industry-standard contracts, such as JCT and NEC.
- Strong pre- and post-contract knowledge.
- Experience in cost forecasting, reporting, cost control, risk management, procurement option advice, and contract administration.
- Experience in the education, health, and housing sectors.
- Solid commercial awareness.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Willingness to travel and hold a full, clean UK driving licence.
