IMH Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Leaving Care Personal Advisor to work with our client in Wakefield, WF3.
You will manage your own caseload, support young people with their Pathway Plans and help them successfully transition into independent adulthood.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage an individual caseload and review Pathway Plans and Risk Assessments.
- Provide practical and personal support to care leavers.
- Support young people with housing, accommodation and tenancy-related issues.
- Help young people with budgeting, benefits, bills and maintaining their accommodation.
- Develop positive relationships with partner agencies and accommodation providers.
- Advocate for vulnerable young people and encourage their participation in services.
- Attend reviews, meetings and multi-agency discussions.
- Maintain accurate case records and documentation using IT systems.
- Respond appropriately to young people who may be experiencing a crisis.
- Work closely with colleagues, statutory agencies and voluntary organisations.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, policies and safeguarding procedures.
Requirements:
- Experience of working with young people in the care system.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- Knowledge and understanding of the challenges young people face when transitioning into adulthood.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and relevant legislation, including the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000.
- Ability to manage a caseload and organise work effectively.
- Ability to build positive relationships with young people, including those with complex needs.
- A professional, supportive and empathetic approach.
- Full UK Driving licence and own vehicle.
- Enhanced DBS Check (Clear)
Hours & Pay:
- Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
- £16.62 per hour
- Weekly pay via agency!
