Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Restaurant Supervisor / Manager to take ownership of our restaurant operation. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about hospitality, thrives in a busy environment, and takes pride in delivering exceptional service.
Working closely with the General Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the restaurant, ensuring consistently high standards of service, cleanliness, organisation, and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the daily operation of the restaurant, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Support the General Manager with the management of the restaurant, maintaining the highest operational standards.
- Lead, motivate, and supervise the front-of-house restaurant team during service.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure every guest receives a warm, professional, and memorable dining experience.
- Ensure excellent communication between the restaurant and kitchen teams to provide seamless service.
- Manage restaurant bookings and oversee guest pre-orders through the booking system, ensuring all dietary requirements, special requests, and pre-ordered menus are accurately communicated to the kitchen and service teams.
- Take ownership of the cleanliness, presentation, and organisation of the restaurant, ensuring all guest areas are maintained to an exceptional standard at all times.
- Ensure all opening, closing, and cleaning procedures are completed thoroughly and consistently.
- Train, coach, and develop the front-of-house team in service standards, menu knowledge, upselling techniques, and customer care.
- Handle customer feedback professionally, resolving issues promptly and effectively.
- Assist with rota planning, team development, and maintaining appropriate staffing levels.
- Support the delivery of private events, functions, and special occasions.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, food hygiene, licensing requirements, and company procedures.
- Monitor service standards and identify opportunities to improve the guest experience.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Restaurant Supervisor, Assistant Manager, or Restaurant Manager in a busy hospitality venue.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent understanding of restaurant operations and front-of-house service.
- Experience managing restaurant reservations and booking systems, including coordinating guest pre-orders and communicating requirements to the kitchen.
- Outstanding communication and organisational skills.
- A passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating memorable guest experiences.
- High personal standards with exceptional attention to cleanliness, presentation, and detail.
- Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- A good understanding of food hygiene, health and safety, and licensing requirements.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
Desirable
- Experience in a premium pub, restaurant, or food-led hospitality venue.
- Experience using EPOS systems and restaurant booking systems.
- Personal Licence Holder (or willing to obtain one).
