About the shifts
- Shifts: 2/3 days per week (7:30am-4:30pm) on a week a/b rotation.
- Schedule: Week A = Saturday & Sunday, Week B = 2/3 days in the weekdays
- Option for more hours to cover other shifts
About Mabel's Coffee?
Mabel's is a small café in Old Town, serving a variety of handmade drinks as well as fresh cakes from local bakers, pastries and sandwiches. We have partnered with Project Coffee and serve their organic beans.
About the role
You will be part of a team, but most shifts will be working alone. Therefore, we are seeking a barista with all round coffee shop experience. You will be responsible for opening and closing the shop, and the smooth running of the shop during each shift with support on hand when required. You will be a pro-active person with good communication skills as updating other team members daily is required along with providing social media content. We have a “clean as you go” policy and you will be responsible for leaving the shop clean and ready for the following day’s trade. With great customer service skills you will meet our high standards in everything you do. Delivering a friendly environment for all our customers to enjoy our delicious products. We operate several coffee shops, so there may be times you'll be asked to work in a different shop, giving you additional experience in other environments.
Some duties will include:
- Maintaining high standards
- Handling card payments
- Preparing food and hot/cold drinks including, coffees, smoothies, milkshakes
- Great customer service
- General back of bar and end of shift cleaning
The ideal candidate
- Excellent barista skills
- A thriving passion for coffee, how it’s made, its origins and its delivery
- Knowledge and experience in using a range of milk alternatives
- Attention to detail, high quality of work, and customer focused
- Prior experience working as a Barista
- Have a friendly, outgoing personality
- Well presented
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
