We employ more than 600 HSE specialists across our Corporate Solutions business. Our primary areas of safety focus are in our Facilities Management and Project & Development Services. Until now, our HSE management has been built around local and regional structures. However, with the increasing globalization of our client base, we are now seeking to centralize our HSSE teams and create a strong HSSE platform, to provide strategic and operational direction for our HSSE performance and drive the global consistency and excellence our clients and shareholders demand and our people deserve.
Role Purpose
The EMEA Account HSSE Lead (Data Centre Client) will be responsible for implementing and managing HSSE for one of the JLL’s new JLL/WD accounts. The most important objective of this role will be ensuring that our employees and sub-contractors return home safely at the end of their working day.
The role is highly visible, and the work is fast-paced. The successful candidate must ensure that critical stakeholders, such as employees and clients, receive timely, relevant information and appropriate counsel for HSSE Matters. They must have an acute eye for HSSE risk and be able to foster as strong culture health and safety and deliver world class HSSE results, improved productivity and flawless execution.
As a member of the JLL/WD EMEA HSSE team they will support the development of the JLL HSSE strategy and as the role reports directly to the JLL/WD UK & Ireland HSSE Senior Director.
Day-today accountability is to the JLL EMEA (Data Centre Client) Account Director with regular reporting on HSSE performance across the account to the EMEA Account Leadership team
Other key stakeholders include the accounts leads for regional Operations leads account leads, Engineering, Risk & Compliance, Finance, HR, Projects and Client Corporate Real Estate Team leads.
What this job involves
Performance
Implement Global JLL/WD HSSE strategic objectives and bring them to life for the (DATA CENTRE CLIENT), ensuring effective operational relevance.
Manage and reduce operational risks across the account by providing guidance and advice on health and safety risk management at all levels.
Manage, support & direct HSSE quality at the UK sites & any progressive AOR’s outside the UK if they arise on the account
Provide technical advice on relevant HSSE issues and communicate notifications of changes in legislation that will impact service delivery and/or client occupancy.
Ensure a continued working knowledge of relevant current legislation
Identify improvement opportunities and support the account team in identifying practical cost-effective solutions and controls for HSSE risks.
Ensure building related risk assessments are in place in line with legal requirements and Client Global Risk Control Standards
Manage account for incident and accident investigations
Organize, implement, and maintain an effective account HSSE communication plan
Leadership
Foster a Culture of Safety across the account
Support Regional EHS leads in developing relationships with key internal and external EHS stakeholders.
Proactively develop and manage client relationships ensuring expected service levels are achieved
Deliver an exceptional quality of service to (DATA CENTRE CLIENT) , as reflected by client feedback.
Embed JLL JLL/WD HSSE requirements and meet client requirements and standards.
Establish effective relationships and work co-operatively with the Account Teams, (DATA CENTRE CLIENT) organizations, and 3rd party vendors
Contribute to the JLL/WD HSSE programme as part of the global HSSE leadership team
Ensure 3rd party vendors maintain compliance with JLL JLL/WD and (DATA CENTRE CLIENT) HSSE Standards at all times.
Standards
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of JLL Global HSSE operational controls, (i.e., process, standards, procedures, and guidelines) ensuring compliance with HSSE obligations and JLL’s HSE aspirations.
Drive the development of best practice HSE training programs and resources.
Implement HSE strategy and operating protocols for the safety performance of JLL’s contractors and supply chain vendors.
Oversee the successful delivery of HSE regulatory responsibilities and best practices globally to secure regulatory compliance, including management of change related to new and revised legislation.
Oversee the successful management of assurance for the HSE program, while supporting growth strategies related to Client, JLL and/or national and industry standards.
To apply you need to be / have:
The CandidateExperience
A minimum 10 years HSSE management experience within Operational Management systems and working with corporate clients.
Appropriate recognized Professional HSSE qualifications and memberships
Management system development, implementation and auditing experience;
Deep understanding of the HSE regulatory environment in major markets
Experience of implementing HSE technology platforms and data management tools across multiple countries & regions.
Experience of managing a large varied, multi-cultural team.
Practical working knowledge of up-to-date tools and techniques within a real estate environment and management of risk across a complex multi-site property portfolio.
Significant practical experience of problem solving HSSE issues in a dynamic/diverse environment and implementation of risk control systems and processes
An agile approach to leadership and stakeholder management – able to operate effectively in a matrix structure.
A strong orientation to goals and measurable results.
Excellent communication skills to appropriately coach and educate at all levels of the account.
