Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Duct Fitter to join our team, specialising in the installation and maintenance of ductwork systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience in construction environments, with the ability to interpret schematics and lead installation projects. Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, and secure ductwork systems according to project specifications and schematics
- Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics to ensure accurate installation
- Conduct maintenance and repair of existing duct systems, including equipment repair as needed
- Lead small teams during installation projects, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to safety standards
- Collaborate with other trades such as electrical or HVAC technicians to complete integrated systems
- Ensure all work complies with industry regulations and company standards for quality and safety
- Assist in troubleshooting issues related to air conditioning or ventilation systems during installation or maintenance phases
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety protocols at all times
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with practical experience in construction or HVAC environments
- Proficiency in reading technical schematics and blueprints
- Leadership qualities with the ability to supervise and motivate team members effectively
- Experience in equipment repair and maintenance of ductwork or related HVAC systems
- Knowledge of air conditioning systems, ventilation principles, and general construction practices
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in physically demanding conditions
