Total Loft Conversions is looking for an experienced loft conversion carpentry team to work with us on a long-term subcontract basis.
We are looking for an established team with strong, long-term experience specifically in loft conversions. Projects will be offered on a price-per-project basis, with the team responsible for carrying out the works from the structural stage through to the plasterboarding stage.
The Role
You will be responsible for the first-fix and structural carpentry elements of loft conversion projects, working from architectural drawings and structural calculations.
Projects will generally include:
- Structural carpentry and timber framing
- Installation of structural steelwork and associated timber works
- New floor structures and joists
- Dormer construction
- Roof alterations and construction
- Rafters and roof structures
- First-fix timber work
- Loft conversion insulation
- Plasterboarding
- Fitting and installing new loft conversion stairs
- General making good associated with your works
Essential Requirements
- Long-term experience in loft conversions
- Strong experience in structural carpentry
- Proven experience constructing dormers and loft structures
- Stair installation experience is essential
- Insulation experience is essential
- Plasterboarding experience is essential
- Able to accurately work from architectural drawings and structural calculations
- Must have your own labourer
- Must have your own van
- Must have your own tools and equipment
- Able to work independently and complete projects to an agreed programme
- High standard of workmanship
- Reliable and professional
Important
This role is specifically for first-fix/structural loft conversion work through to plasterboarding.
This is NOT a start-to-finish loft conversion position.
You will not be expected to complete the plumbing, electrical, plastering, decorating or other finishing trades. Our requirement is for a skilled team to complete the structural carpentry, insulation, stairs and plasterboarding stages of each project.
Location
Projects are based in Worthing and the surrounding areas.
You must be able to travel to projects within the local Worthing area and surrounding towns.
