14 hours 45 minutes per week, 17 hours 45 minutes alternate weeks, Social Club is twice a week. Monday-Friday, no weekends or bank holidays.
We are looking for a kind, reliable and patient PA to support an 87-year-old lady living in Croydon.
The lady is living with Alzheimer’s and is currently managing well with her daily routine. She benefits from gentle reminders, reassurance and supervision to help her stay on track, particularly when getting ready for the day. She attends social clubs three times a week, which she thoroughly enjoys, and on these days you will help her get ready in time for the community bus, making sure she is prepared and waiting when it arrives.
You will also support with the safe administration of medication, serve meals and drinks, and help with light household tasks such as cleaning, laundry and changing bed linen to keep her home clean, comfortable and well maintained.
The role involves visiting twice a day, Monday to Friday, with no weekend or bank holiday working. You will work closely with the family to help ensure continuity of care and keep them updated when needed.
We are looking for someone who is patient, caring and respectful, with a calm and reassuring approach. Experience of supporting people living with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia would be an advantage, although empathy, reliability and the right attitude are just as important.
CRO-JDE lives with her husband who needs minimal help with his food but not medication or other care is required.
