Job Title: MIG Welder / Fabricator
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Reports To: Welding Shop Manager / Team Leader
Working Hours & Pay:
- Day Shift: Monday to Thursday 7:30am – 5:00pm, Friday 7:30am – 12:30pm
- Pay: Up to £16.77 per hour (DOE)
- Night Shift: Monday to Thursday 6:00pm – 6:00am
- Pay: Up to £21.86 per hour (DOE)
Role Overview
Our client, a well-established commercial body and trailer manufacturing business, is seeking experienced MIG Welders / Fabricators to join their growing team. Working within a busy welding department, you will be involved in the production of high-quality, in-house designed trailer chassis, decks, and associated assemblies.
This is a varied and hands-on role, working on low-volume, high-specification builds for prestigious, blue-chip customers. It is ideally suited to individuals who take pride in producing high-quality work and can perform well in a deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out MIG welding on steel components up to 12mm thickness
- Assist in the fabrication and assembly of trailer chassis, decks, and associated parts
- Work from detailed engineering and fabrication drawings
- Operate a range of hand and air tools safely and effectively
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard of quality and accuracy
- Meet production targets and deadlines within a fast-paced workshop environment
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with health and safety standards
- Collaborate with team leaders and colleagues to ensure efficient workflow
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in MIG welding, particularly with steels up to 12mm thickness
- Experience welding additional materials such as stainless steel and alloys is advantageous
- Ability to read and interpret detailed fabrication/engineering drawings
- Competent in the use of hand tools and air-powered equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet demanding deadlines
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment preferred
