Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated FLT Driver/Warehouse Operative (PM shift) to join our dynamic team. This role involves operating forklift trucks and managing warehouse activities to ensure the smooth flow of materials and products. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling goods efficiently, maintaining safety standards, and supporting warehouse operations with mechanical knowledge and organisational skills. Responsibilities
- Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently to load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation and handling of goods.
- Manage stock levels using Warehouse Management System (WMS) software, updating records as necessary.
- Conduct basic equipment repairs and maintenance to ensure operational safety and efficiency.
- Handle materials with care, ensuring proper storage and organisation within the warehouse.
- Perform manual handling tasks, including heavy lifting, in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
- Support the organisation of stock by categorising and storing items systematically.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle checks as required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment at all times.
Experience
- Previous warehouse experience is essential, preferably involving forklift operation.
- Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is desirable.
- Familiarity with materials handling techniques, shipping & receiving procedures, and basic maths skills for inventory management.
- Valid forklift licence or certification is essential
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work effectively in a physically demanding environment.
