About the role...
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Workshop Controller to join our Land Rover dealership in Hull. You will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day running of the workshop, ensuring work is allocated efficiently, technicians remain productive, and repairs are completed to manufacturer standards while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Your key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
Allocate work to technicians with clear instructions and appropriate time allowances, ensuring EVHCs are completed first and workshop productivity is maximised.
Monitor technician performance, attendance, and efficiency, ensuring repairs are completed to manufacturer standards and job cards are accurately completed with appropriate SRO coding.
Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by communicating effectively with the wider team, protecting vehicles during repair, and supporting a seamless customer journey.
Oversee the efficient day-to-day running of the workshop, including managing tools, equipment, consumables, workshop meetings, and minimising technician idle time.
Ensure the workshop remains safe, secure, clean, and compliant by maintaining equipment, reporting hazards, and disposing of hazardous waste in line with company policies.
What do you need to succeed as a Workshop Controller?

Proven experience within a service department in the motor industry

An excellent understanding of systems and processes operated to within this environment

A strong knowledge of Health and Safety

Confident with dealing with people at all levels, be able to build an immediate rapport
