MARINE ENGINEER – Full Time 40 Hours per week
Full time Marine Engineer opportunity available at Ropewalk Ltd.
As an established Marine Engineering business, we are Authorized Volvo Penta Dealers and a service point for other brands of marine engines. Our services include all aspects of Marine Engineering including marine plumbing installations and maintenance/repair of vessel systems.
We need an experienced and competent engineer to fit in with our existing team of Marine Engineers. Our works are based in Lymington and surrounding area.
We are a friendly supportive team looking for a Marine engineer with significant experience in Marine Engineering. If you are looking for a change and would like to work for a long-established business then get in touch.
What we are looking for someone who has the following attributes:
- Self-motivated with a strong and reliable work ethic.
- The ability and to improve existing skills and follow ongoing training within their working role.
- Hold an overall sound knowledge and experience.
o Experience in general servicing, maintenance of marine inboard diesel and petrol engines and associated transmissions.
o Experience in fault finding and the use of diagnostic equipment.
o Experience of new engine installations.
o Experience of fully rebuilding engines and transmissions.
o Experience in marine electrical systems
o Experience in marine plumbing installations.
o Experience with Volvo Penta products would be an advantage but not a fixed requirement.
· Capacity to work alone or as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate well with both customers and colleagues.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to complete job cards and where required communicate with owners clearly regarding works carried out.
- Marine engineering qualifications or relevant vocational experience and training from previous roles
- Leisure and commercial vessel experience.
- Full and valid drivers license.
- Enrolment within an ongoing training path through Volvo Penta Training path provides the opportunity for Professional development.
