Service Development & Placements Manager
Hours: Full Time – Permanent
Salary: £40,000–£45,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Location: Cally Yard, King's Cross – Agile based across London and the South East. Ability to travel independently is essential. Some home working can be agreed at times

At Look Ahead, we're looking for a Service Development & Placements Manager to support great outcomes for customers and contributing to growth of our Learning Disabilities & Autism services. Working closely with the Managing Director, you'll support the LD&A team with referrals, assessments and placements, and customer transition periods, helping ensure people are matched with the right support while driving service development and occupancy across our portfolio.
This is an exciting opportunity to combine operational leadership with relationship management, working alongside commissioners, local authorities and internal teams to deliver excellent outcomes for the people we support. You will contribute to supporting staff teams to embed good practice and innovation, and contribute to driving service continuous improvement plans and practices.
About the Role
You'll have a key role in referrals, assessments, placements and transitions, working closely with operational managers to deliver person-centred support from the very beginning of each customer's journey.
You'll also play a key role in developing relationships with commissioners and brokerage teams, identifying growth opportunities, reducing voids and supporting the continued development of our services.
You will support our Real Tenancy Test processes, ensuring people have been fully involved in decisions about their housing and support offer
Key responsibilities
- Key role in attracting referrals, carrying out assessments, supporting placements and providing customer support through transitions
- Build strong relationships with commissioners, brokerage teams and key stakeholders
- Drive occupancy by managing referral pipelines and reducing voids
- Complete person-centred assessments and placement costings
- Support new service developments and business growth opportunities
- Analyse referral and performance data and produce reports for senior leaders
- Work collaboratively with Operations, Housing, Finance and Business Development teams
- Support operational managers with service improvement, training and quality initiatives
- Support teams to maintain excellence through service continuous improvement plans
- Oversee good practice against the Real Tenancy Test
Who We're Looking For
You'll bring:
- A passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred services
- Operational management experience within Learning Disabilities, Autism or Supported Living services
- Sound knowledge and experience in Adult Regulated Care
- Knowledge of commissioning, brokerage and funding processes
- Experience building strong relationships with commissioners and external partners
- Excellent communication, data conversant with strong report-writing skills
- A flexible approach to your workload – duties will change in accordance with service need
- Willingness and ability to cover service management in times of need
