JOB VACANCY – WELDER / STEEL FABRICATOR/SITE LABOURER Due to continued expansion, G Jones Construction Ltd is looking for possibly two experienced Welder/ Steel Fabricators/Site Labourers to join our team. We are looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking and experienced in steel fabrication and welding. The role will involve:* Steel fabrication and welding* Reading and working from drawings* Cutting, preparing and assembling steelwork* Working both independently and as part of a team* Maintaining a high standard of workmanship Experience is preferred but training can be provided. - Installation of Cladding at ground level.
- Operation of forklift truck, experience preferred but not essential.
- Experience with drill & hand tools.
- Laying of membrane.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting materials around the construction site.
- Support skilled tradespeople by preparing tools and equipment needed for daily tasks
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
- Help with site setup and breakdown, including moving barriers, signage, and temporary structures
- Perform general labour tasks such as digging, lifting, and carrying materials as directed
- Support site supervisors in completing routine inspections and reporting any hazards or issues
- Skills
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to perform manual labour for extended periods
- Excellent teamwork skills and a positive attitude towards collaborative work environments
- Basic understanding of health and safety practices on construction sites
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and work efficiently under supervision
- Reliable punctuality and strong work ethic are essential
- Prior experience in construction or labouring is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is key
- Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation is advantageous
