At Fair Haven, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Care Assistant, working 35 hours on a part time basis. This role is working day shifts (including weekends) and you will also be required to be on shift as a Care Assistant at times. The focus of this role is to actively participate in and supervise the delivery of care to the residents to meet their physical, social, intellectual and emotional needs, ensuring that dignity, choice and independence are maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide effective leadership and supervision of are staff, organising and supporting the team.
- Help the care team to deliver excellent, person-centred personal care.
- Administer medication in accordance with established guidelines.
- Maintain and oversee residents’ care documentation, ensuring a person-centred approach at all times.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to continuously meet residents’ needs.
- Undertake responsibilities within specific areas as delegated by the Home Manager.
- Ensure all administrative records are accurate and up to date.
- Follow appropriate procedures in emergency situations such as fire or missing residents.
Person Specification:
- NVQ Level 3 or above
- A genuine interest in working with the elderly and respect for diversity and individuality
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels
- Experience with EMARs and care planning
- Outgoing and passionate about delivering high-quality care
- Working knowledge of person-centred care planning and practice
- Experience in safe handling of medicines
- Proficiency in computer literacy
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to respond appropriately to challenges
- Flexibility to work shifts as required by the needs of the business
- Commitment to confidentiality and compliance organisational policies
- Willingness to attend staff meetings and participate in professional development
