About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Swimming Pool Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and compliance of swimming pool systems across a portfolio of commercial, leisure, and residential aquatic facilities throughout the UK.
This is a senior-level role requiring strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and a thorough understanding of UK pool engineering standards and water treatment regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Technical
- Oversee the installation of new swimming pool plant rooms, including filtration, circulation, heating, and chemical dosing systems
- Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on pool plant equipment
- Conduct water quality testing and management in compliance with PWTAG (Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group) guidelines and HSE requirements
- Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults across pool systems
- Manage the commissioning of new pools and refurbished plant rooms
Team Leadership
- Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians
- Assist other senior members in technical training to other staff on pool plant operation and water quality management
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in swimming pool engineering or aquatics plant maintenance
- Strong working knowledge of filtration systems, chemical dosing (chlorine, CO₂, UV), circulation pumps, and heat exchangers
- Demonstrated understanding of PWTAG guidelines and HSE swimming pool regulations
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation and client-facing reports
Desirable Requirements
- Relevant engineering qualification (City & Guilds, HNC/HND, or equivalent) in mechanical, electrical, or building services engineering
