The Star Castle Hotel
We are currently looking to recruit front of house staff to join the team at our family run, 4 star luxury hotel on St Mary’s, Isles of Scilly. St Marys is the largest of the 5 inhabited islands, 26 miles off the coast of Cornwall. The hotel consists of 38 rooms, some full of history within the original castle building itself and the remaining outside in the grounds with beautiful and unspoilt garden and sea views.
Job Description
Role: Front of house
Contract: Seasonal (July-October)
Responsible To: Restaurant manager
Hours: 40 hours per week. With additional end of season bonus and holiday entitlement.
Salary: To be discussed on application.

Purpose of the role:
To assist the restaurant manager in a smooth running of the restaurant. This will involve breakfast and dinner shifts, split over 5 days.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Restaurant staff will be responsible for preparing tables, greeting and seating customers, delivering food and drink to the table.
- Providing a professional dining experience for the guests.
- Answer any customer questions and offer recommendations.
- Maintain cleanliness standards.
- Liaise with reception team to ensure any individual requirements are
- To liaise and communicate with other team members and other service departments in a clear and timely manner to ensure service delivery and team work.
Experience:
- Experience of working in a restaurant environment is desirable, however, not essential as full training will be given.
- Takes personal pride in doing a fantastic job including having a very high standard of personal appearance.
- Able to understand and deliver an outstanding service.
- Able to demonstrate a professional and organised approach to the role.
- Be a great team player and take ownership and responsibility when required.
- Have the ability to prioritise and to spot errors and resolve issues.
- Have an excellent attention to detail.
- Have great timekeeping skills.
- Have a basic understanding of dietary requirements and restrictions, both for safety reasons and to supply an excellent service.
People skills:

Pay: £22,880.00-£26,520.00 per year
