Senior Clinical Fellow in Obstetrics & Gynacology (ST3+ level)
To provide obstetrics and gynaecology service of the highest quality, ensuring that standards are maintained and developed through continuous improvement, clinical audit, evidence-based research, job planning and appraisal and to work flexibly with colleagues to achieve the hospitals business and clinical strategy. Within this post there is an emphasis on building on pre-existing skills within gynaecological ultrasound or outpatient hysteroscopy or one-stop/cancer wait time clinics. There will be opportunities to undertake the gynaecology oncology ATSM, along with a regular independent elective obstetrics theatre list.
The main duties include direct patient care, supervision of junior doctors, participation in clinical governance, and potentially involvement in research or teaching. To be responsible for the ongoing care of patients, in Obstetrics & gynaecology. This includes assessing, diagnosing, and managing acutely ill patients, sometimes taking the lead in on-call situations. The postholder will also supervise junior doctors (e.g., Foundation Year doctors, or Specialty Training doctors) providing guidance and support in their clinical work.
