What is the role responsible for?
As a Junior IT Buyer, you will support the Procurement team in sourcing IT hardware, software, and services from leading suppliers and distributors. This role exists to ensure products are purchased efficiently and cost-effectively, stock levels are maintained, and supplier relationships are managed effectively to support excellent customer outcomes.
You'll work closely with Sales, Operations, Warehouse, Finance, and external suppliers, gaining valuable exposure to procurement, inventory management, supplier management, and supply chain operations while developing your career in a fast-paced technology environment.
What will you be doing day-to-day?
Here are a few examples of what you could be involved with:
- Raising and processing purchase orders, ensuring pricing, availability, and supplier information are accurate
- Sourcing products from vendors and distributors, obtaining competitive pricing, lead times, and availability information
- Monitoring supplier orders and proactively managing deliveries, shortages, and supply issues
- Managing stock replenishment activities and supporting inventory control to maintain optimum stock levels
- Coordinating Return Merchandise Authorisation (RMA) processes, including repairs, replacements, returns, and supplier credits
- Building positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and minimise customer impact
- Maintaining procurement, inventory, and supplier records within company systems and producing regular reports
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and administrative activities across the procurement and supply chain function
What you bring
You don't need experience in everything listed—but we're especially keen to hear from people with some of the following skills:
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a customer-focused approach
- Good numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Experience within purchasing, procurement, supply chain, administration, or customer service environments (desirable)
- Knowledge of IT hardware, software, networking products, or technology solutions (desirable)
- Experience with ERP, purchasing, inventory management systems, or a willingness to work towards CIPS qualifications (desirable)
