Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in leading our kitchen operations. The successful candidate will be passionate about fresh food, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and be committed to delivering consistently high-quality dishes while helping develop the kitchen team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
- Prepare and cook high-quality breakfast, brunch, and lunch dishes to company standards.
- Supervise and motivate kitchen staff during service.
- Ensure food is prepared, presented, and served consistently.
- Maintain excellent food hygiene, cleanliness, and health & safety standards.
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and reducing food waste.
- Help manage kitchen rotas and ensure efficient staffing levels.
- Train, coach, and support junior kitchen team members.
- Monitor food quality and ensure compliance with all food safety regulations.
- Step into the Head Chef role during periods of absence.
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or a strong Chef de Partie ready to step up.
- Experience in a busy café, brunch, or casual dining environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Good understanding of food safety and HACCP procedures.
- Passion for fresh, seasonal food and attention to detail.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure.
- Flexible approach to working weekends and bank holidays.
- Essential Requirements
- Food Hygiene Level 2 (minimum).
- Right to work in the UK.
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen.
