Machina Engineering is reinventing precision manufacturing from the ground up, fusing software and hardware into a single system, reshoring production back to the UK in the process. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of 5-axis CNC milling processes and proven experience in programming and operating complex components, supporting key domestic industries such as aerospace, defence, space, Formula One and more.
Our facility features state-of-the-art Hermle 5-axis machining centres with fully integrated automation systems designed for continuous 24/7 lights-out operation. We utilise advanced technology and work with the best suppliers in the industry, like Ceritizit, Lang and Zoller, ensuring utmost reliability and the highest quality standards.
Programming is completed using OpenMind hyperMILL with simulation and verification to enable unattended prove-outs. Training on our machines and CAM systems will be provided if required, with industry-specific experience being all that's required.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and optimise offline CNC programs using hyperMILL, including full simulation for lights-out and pallet-pool operation
Send new programs to prove out unattended without consequence over broken tools and scrapped parts
Interpret engineering drawings and CAD models to manufacture components accurately
Work collaboratively with engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and have your say in improving and reinventing the production process
Identify and implement machining efficiency improvements
Verify programs for lights-out suitability, including the use of in-process probing and tool breakage checks to ensure right first-time accuracy
Perform quality checks on finished components using appropriate measuring tools and/or generate in-process probing reports to run during the night
Maintain a clean, organised workspace, ensuring tooling, job documentation, and records are kept up to date
Work within an EN9100 environment and maintain the quality standard
