We are looking for a Pensions Associate to join our UK Pensions team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in pensions or governance who is looking to further develop their expertise in governance and risk management.
Working closely with the Pensions Governance, Audit and Risk Manager and the wider Governance team, you will play an important role in supporting the effective operation of the Trustee Board and its committees, while helping to maintain the highest standards of governance across the UK Pension Plan.
What you will be doing
In this role, you will support the delivery of governance, audit and risk management activities by:
- Coordinating Trustee Board and committee meetings, including preparing agendas, meeting papers, minutes and action trackers.
- Supporting the Audit and Risk Management Committee to ensure governance responsibilities are delivered effectively and on time.
- Maintaining governance documentation, committee Terms of Reference and business plans.
- Preparing reports and updates for Trustee committees and senior stakeholders.
- Supporting Trustee onboarding and maintaining induction materials.
- Assisting with the preparation of the annual report and accounts.
- Maintaining the Plan’s risk register and supporting regular risk reviews and control testing.
- Contributing to Own Risk Assessment reviews and the ongoing development of the Plan’s Effective System of Governance.
- Working closely with internal stakeholders, external advisers and Trustee Directors to ensure governance activities run smoothly.
- Supporting adviser management, budget tracking, cyber assessments, data governance and other governance-related initiatives.
This role provides excellent exposure to senior stakeholders and offers the opportunity to broaden your knowledge of pension governance, risk management and regulatory compliance within a global organisation.
What we are looking for
- At least 3 years’ experience in pensions or governance.
- A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- Strong organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders and external advisers.
- A proactive mindset and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- A professional pensions qualification (or progress towards one), such as APMI or an equivalent qualification, would be advantageous but is not essential.
