Overview
Join our dedicated team as a Rough Sleeper Initiative Worker-Outreach and become a vital force in transforming lives. In this role, you will actively engage with individuals experiencing homelessness, providing compassionate outreach, support, and resources to help them move towards stability. Your energy and leadership will drive community-based solutions, ensuring that vulnerable populations receive the assistance they need to rebuild their lives.
Responsibilities
- Working to minimise the flow of new rough sleepers onto the streets, and to ensure that no-one new to the streets sleeps rough for a second night
- To make links with with statutory and voluntary bodies relevant to the work, and participate in active liaison to communicate effectively with these agencies
- To provide a rapid response outreach service designed to make contact with people at times they are most likely to be sleeping on the street.
- To attend and participate in regular meetings with staff team to review day to day running and development of the service.
- To ensure that a responsible and consistent standard of service is continually offered.
Qualifications
- NVQ level 3 Health & Social Care (or similar) required
- knowledge of drug and alcohol related problems
- Knowledge of homelessness and related issues.
- 1 year+ experience would be an asset.
