Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operational efficiency. Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment
- Diagnose faults accurately using diagnostic tools and techniques
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems efficiently
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs performed
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure safety standards are upheld
- Assist in the installation of new equipment and machinery as required
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies
- Keep the workshop clean, organised, and well-maintained to promote safety and efficiency
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a mechanic or in a similar technical role
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams accurately
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent are preferred
- Valid UK driving licence is desirable but not essential
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
