Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and creative seamstress/Dressmaker/tailor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for fashion and a keen eye for detail, with the ability to carry out garment alterations, that meet client specifications. As a Dressmaker/tailor, you will be responsible for altering high-quality clothing items, ensuring precision in every stitch and design to the customers needs.
Duties
- Carry out alterations and repairs to customers garments.
- Measure clients accurately to ensure proper fit and comfort.
- Select appropriate fabrics, patterns, and materials for each project.
- Cut fabric pieces according to patterns and assemble garments using sewing techniques.
- Perform alterations and adjustments to existing clothing as needed.
- Maintain an organized workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are stored correctly.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and provide expert advice on styles and fabrics.
- Keep up-to-date with current fashion trends and techniques to enhance skills.
Skills
- Proficiency in sewing techniques, including hand stitching and machine sewing.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality work.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a warehouse environment.
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Creativity in design and problem-solving abilities when faced with challenges in garment construction.
