The Fine Cheese Co. is specialist in Artisan Cheese and accompanying foods.
An opportunity has arisen to join an established Technical team in our head office - based out of Dyrham.
- Provide administrative and practical support to the Technical Manager across all aspects of the Technical department.
- Maintain and organise technical documentation, including supplier approvals, product specifications, customer-specific and internal labelling, and document control.
- Input and maintain accurate data within customer portals, export systems and internal databases.
- Monitor, maintain and coordinate technical schedules, including product testing, sampling, calibration, pest control and other planned compliance activities.
- Organise and maintain testing schedules, ensuring samples are submitted, results are recorded and any follow-up actions are completed.
- Support food safety, quality and legal compliance by assisting with HACCP documentation, traceability, audits preparation, GMP and technical records.
- Record and assist with the investigation of non-conformances, customer complaints and corrective actions.
- Liaise with suppliers, customers and contractors (including Pest Control, General Housekeeping) to obtain and maintain required documentation.
- Support audit preparation and ensure technical records are accurate, up to date and readily accessible.
- This is a varied role requiring excellent attention to detail, accuracy, organisation and the confidence to work independently while supporting the day-to-day activities of the Technical department.
Would suit candidates with a Quality Assurance background, or previous Food Technical experience.
This is a site based role, without public transport routes, thus own transport is essential. Free on-site parking.
ESSENTIAL KEY SKILLS:
- Food Industry experience and awareness, processes understanding.
- Knowledge of HACCP principles.
- Windows-proficient, primarily spreadsheets and databases, especially Excel.
- Organised and tidy, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent English language skills, both spoken and written
- Confident to work independently (specifically chasing up suppliers on the telephone and by email).
- Ability to be politely assertive.
DESIRABLE
- Experience of 3rd party GMP audit procedures.
- Previous Quality Assurance experience.
- Degree, or equivalent qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Nutrition, or relevant industry experience.
