Triumph Consultants are looking for a
Technical Officer to carry out the duties of the Council with regard to the range of
Gypsy and Traveller responsibilities covering residential, industrial, commercial premises and the wider environment. In particular to provide technical advice, to
inspect premises, undertake investigations and engage in enforcement work to resolve a wide range of Environmental Health service requests. Contract is for 6 months in Bradford.

Pay Rate: £16.08 per hour PAYE
Hours per week: 37, Monday – Friday, 09:00 - 17:00
Contract length: 6 Months
Location: Bradford, Yorkshire, BD1 1HX
Key requirements:
- 5 GCSE at C Grade or above including Mathematics and English Language
- The applicant is required to provide evidence of having previously spoken fluently to members of the public in order to meet the Advanced threshold level outlined under Special Knowledge above.
- Experience of enforcement work
- Experience of working within a regulatory and legal system
- Able to investigate and resolve a wide range of service requests in relation to a defined range of Environmental Health including collection of evidence and administering the full range of enforcement options
Key responsibilities:
- To investigate and resolve service requests in relation to a defined range of Environmental Health responsibilities in accordance with Departmental procedures, guidance and legislative requirements.
- To make recommendations on the service of statutory notices, institution of legal proceedings and the approval of licences and registrations. In particular being an authorised officer under the provisions of appropriate legislation, must take appropriate enforcement action including the service of notices, initiation and the preparation of cases for legal proceedings and attendance at tribunals/court hearings including in his/her own name.

- To resolve sensitive and confrontational issues that arise with members of the public, businesses, elected members and other 3rd parties resulting from the Service’s law enforcement activities.
