As part of a diverse global engineering organization, the successful candidate will contribute to meaningful work that supports operational excellence, continuous improvement and the development of a brighter engineering future.
Role Summary
This role is intended to strengthen onsite MRO engineering capability by supporting digital work-instruction development, technical process capture, illustration activities, inspection planning support, and continuous improvement initiatives for aero-derivative gas turbine overhaul operations.
The MRO engineer is responsible for capturing, documenting, and developing digital shop-floor work instructions for gas turbine strip, inspection, build, and overhaul activities. The role combines technical authoring, process knowledge capture, filming, photography, inspection planning support, and shop-floor technical engagement.
Working closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, Inspection, Planning, and Operations teams, the successful candidate will ensure that technical documentation, digital work instructions, and process records are accurate, practical, controlled, and suitable for implementation across overhaul operations.
A key element of the role is acting as the link between onsite operations in Aberdeen and offshore support teams, ensuring effective communication, accurate knowledge transfer, and alignment of technical documentation activities. The individual will capture shop-floor expertise, share operational best practices, and support the development of standardized digital work instructions that can be consistently applied across the wider organization.
The role requires strong communication and stakeholder management skills, a positive and proactive attitude, and the ability to build effective working relationships with engineers, inspectors, technicians, fitters, and offshore resources. The successful candidate will play a vital role in preserving operational knowledge, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and driving digital transformation within the MRO environment.
