We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Team Leader to join our Children’s Home, caring for children with complex needs. You will play a key role in providing high quality trauma informed care while providing leadership, guidance, and support to the staff team. Key Responsibilities
As a Team Leader you will:
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children, their families, and professionals involved in their life. Liaise effectively with them when needed.
- Lead shifts to ensure the smooth day to day running of the home and that all of the children’s needs are being met including education, health, and positive experiences.
- Support, motivate, and mentor Support Workers
- Help create and maintain a safe nurturing trauma informed environment for children
- Support the implementation of care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support plans.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are always followed
- Support with the management of incidents, ensuring follow up actions are completed.
- Assist the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in achieving the home’s outcomes and maintaining regulatory compliance
- Maintain accurate records, daily logs, and incident reports.
- Participate, and at times lead, in team meetings, training, and supervision sessions.
About You
We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced individual who provides excellent care to children. You will be dedicated, passionate, and confident in leading others to ensure the children in our care are provided with outstanding levels of care. You will have:
- Experience of working within children’s residential care setting
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices
- Excellent communication skills and inter-relational skills
- Leadership skills and abilities
- The ability to support and inspire a team to deliver high standards of care
- A resilience, proactive, and child-focused approach
- The ability to work independently and part of a team
- Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
- The ability to work flexibility including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts.

Essential Requirements
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Previous experience supporting children and young people in a residential setting
- Experience of supporting staff teams
- Good knowledge of children’s home regulations and safeguarding
- Full UK driving licence
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Medication administration training and experience
- Experience contributing to Ofsted inspections and quality assurance
- Leading shifts and mentoring support workers
