Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Senior Support Worker to join our dynamic care team. In this vital role, you will lead and support a team of support workers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to individuals in a semi independent placement setting. Your leadership will foster a positive environment where residents feel valued, safe, and empowered. You will play a key role in supervising daily activities, developing personalized pathway plans, and maintaining excellent communication with residents, families, and external professionals. Responsibilities
- Supervise and support support workers to deliver compassionate, person-centered care tailored to each resident’s needs
- Lead the development and review of individual care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures within the home environment
- Monitor daily operations, including activity planning, support to appointments, and helping with next steps of independence
- Provide guidance and mentorship to support staff to promote professional growth and high standards of care
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, incidents, and communication logs using IT systems
- Foster effective communication channels among team members, residents, families, and external healthcare providers
Requirements
- Proven experience in senior or supervisory roles within a care home or similar setting
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and supervise support staff effectively
- Excellent communication skills to liaise confidently with residents, families, colleagues, and external agencies
- Knowledge of care plans development and implementation tailored to individual needs
- Familiarity with IT systems used for documentation and care management
- Experience caring for vulnerable children and adults is essential; supervising experience is highly valued
