Self-Employed School Meals Delivery Driver

Platebox is a leading provider of school meals transport and is currently looking for reliable self-employed drivers to join our team in Swindon.

About the Role
You will be responsible for collecting insulated school meal containers from a designated production kitchen or school and delivering them to another school. Depending on the requirements of the individual route, you will either return the empty containers immediately after delivery or collect them following the lunch service and transport them back to the collection point.
As part of the role, you will be required to:
- Load and unload insulated food containers from your own vehicle.
- Safely transport school meals between sites.
- Return empty meal containers either immediately after delivery or after the lunch service, depending on the route requirements.
- Complete deliveries in accordance with the scheduled times.
- Maintain a professional and courteous manner when dealing with schools and catering staff.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Estate car or large SUV.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Physically fit and able to safely lift and carry insulated meal containers.
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record (DBS) check.
- Available to work the full 190 school days each academic year.
Hours
- Approximately 2 hours per day (depending on the route).
- Between 11:30 am and 1:30 pm (times may vary depending on the route and whether an immediate or after-lunch return is required).
- Monday to Friday during school term time only.
- No weekend work.
Pay
- £20 per day
- 55p per mile paid for mileage travelled between collection and delivery sites.
- Self-employed position.
